New Texas.gov/voting Web Page Prepares Texans for General Election

Page provides easy access to voting information and services, as well as Texas voting FAQs

AUSTIN, Texas – Sept. 1, 2010 — Today, Texas.gov, the official website of the State of Texas, introduces www.texas.gov/voting, a webpage dedicated to helping Texans find voting and polling place information. With the Oct. 4 voter registration deadline quickly approaching, Texas.gov provides Texans with easy access to voting information and services, as well as answers to the most commonly asked voting questions in Texas. Via the new webpage, citizens can:

  • [Verify]  voter registration;
  • [Change] the address on a voter registration card;
  • [Complete] a voter registration form; and
  • [Learn more] about local representatives.

In addition to the voter registration deadline of Monday, Oct. 4, other key dates include early voting from Monday, Oct. 18 to Friday, Oct. 29, and Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Visit the Texas.gov/voting webpage to find answers to more frequently asked questions, such as:

  • Am I eligible to vote?;
  • Where can I register to vote?;
  • Where can I vote?;
  • What ID is required to vote?; and
  • Where can I find election results?

In addition to voting information and services, Texas.gov provides Texans with more than 1,000 online services, including Driver License Renewal, Vehicle Registration Renewal, and Birth Certificate Orders. Texans can also access timely services for the fall season, including education related information and online sales of Hunting and Fishing licenses.
